School Grounds Development
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust have been helping
schools throughout Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire make a
difference for nature in their school grounds. From small projects
such as encouraging schools to leave a wild patch, or giving an
assembly to the school to inspire them to get started, to more
hands-on activities such as making bird and bat boxes. We have also
completed some much larger projects such as creating a nature area
from scratch including a new pond, native hedgerow, habitat tower
and sculptures.
If you would like us to come and help you
make your school grounds more wildlife friendly, then please
contact Vicky Worthington, Senior Education Ranger on 024 7630 8977
or victoria.worthington@wkwt.org.uk.
We are more than happy to come to your site for a free half an hour
consultation to help you make a start.

Testimonials from Schools where we have
helped them develop their school grounds:
Mr Alan Jones, Headteacher at St Margaret's
C of E School, Whitnash
'I am delighted to be able to write a few
sentences in support of the work carried out by Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust at our school. Teams of people worked extremely hard
to build a wonderful pond and dipping platform for us. They worked
in tandem with our pupils who were very keen to contribute to the
project. Following completion of the pond Nicole Armitage ran an
Environment Club with 20 of our Year 5 children - this was an
excellent vintage and all the children learnt a great deal and
thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I unreservedly recommend the
Trust to you.'
