Tim Haselden, Living Landscapes Wetlands
Officer says, "Kenneth Grahame's much-loved character, Ratty,
immortalized in his classic 'The Wind in the Willows was actually a
water vole and when the book was written in 1908 water voles were
very common. Mainly as a result of predation by the American mink
they are at the top of the endangered species list in Britain and
in sore need of as much help as we can give them. However, to do
that we need to know as much as possible about these delightful
animals and their ecology - so come along to our workshop and find
out how you can help with our projects in Warwickshire. There's
probably one right on your doorstep."
