Tim Haselden, Wetlands Living Landscapes Officer says, "Just as winter-time is an opportunity for gardeners to cut back plants to promote new growth in spring, it is also the best time of year to cut back our reed beds. If we don't do this work, the leaf litter clogs up the waterway and the reed bed becomes colonised by alder and willow, thus destroying a habitat essential to amphibians, insects and nesting water birds. But to do a really effective job, we need help, so why not come and give us a hand? We'll be delighted to see you, so give us a call".
