Owned by the Trust since 1997 and
designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Open access,
no dogs permitted.
These meadows contribute 11.5 hectares to
the largest SSSI in Warwickshire, Alvecote Pools, which in total
covers 128 hectares and includes Pooley Fields. Supports a variety of
wetland habitats including wet grassland, marsh, reed swamp with
water mint and greater pond sedge and open water, attracting a wide
range of dragonflies, damselflies and birds such as snipe, pied
wagtail, goldfinch and kestrel.
