April to AugustAbout the reserve
This reserve is a mix of grassland, scrub and woodland. It is really important for butterflies and at least 24 species have been recorded here since 1991, such as small skipper and small copper. Â
There are many types of grasses including fescues and bents, Yorkshire-fog and smooth meadow-grass, which attract numerous insects. Â Twenty-one species of butterfly have been spotted here, including purple hairstreak, marbled white and small copper.
